PPLI is a form of life insurance available only to qualified purchasers or accredited investors and, structured properly, can efficiently help such individuals address their life insurance protection needs with the potential to build cash value tax-efficiently supported by sophisticated and customized underlying investment options not accessible by the general public. Interest in PPLI has increased in recent years due to the rhetoric and proposals regarding tax increases for high-earners and high-net-worth individuals.
